As a snowboarder, Snowshoe, WV is an excellent destination to visit. Here are some reasons why Snowshoe is a great spot for snowboarding
Terrain: Snowshoe has over 251 acres of skiable terrain and 60 trails, with something for every level of snowboarder. There are plenty of beginner-friendly runs, as well as challenging black diamond runs and terrain parks with jumps, rails, and other features for advanced riders. You can start from the Easiest Way Down all the way to the Western Territory. All riders can enjoy at their own level.
Snow Quality: Snowshoe has an average of 180 inches of snowfall each year, which makes for excellent snowboarding conditions. The resort also has an extensive snowmaking system that covers 100% of the terrain, ensuring excellent conditions throughout the season. in 2023, Snowshoe add ALL NEW snowmakers to the main mountain which makes the conditions better than anywhere else.
Terrain Parks (my personal favorite): Snowshoe's terrain parks are some of the best on the East Coast, with a variety of features to challenge and entertain snowboarders of all levels. There are four terrain parks at Snowshoe with all various challenges for beginners to experts. Boxes, rails, jumps, you name it! Snowshoe has it all!
Nighttime Riding: Snowshoe offers night skiing and snowboarding at Silvercreek, allowing visitors to hit the slopes even after the sun goes down. Nighttime riding is a unique and exciting experience that shouldn't be missed. Nighttime riding is open until 9pm!
Location and Accessibility: Snowshoe is easily accessible from major cities like Washington D.C., Baltimore, and Pittsburgh, making it a great destination for a weekend or week-long snowboarding trip. Snowshoe is also located in the Appalachian Mountains, which provide a unique and picturesque backdrop for snowboarding. We live in Virginia Beach, Va and it's only a 5.5 hour drive. Quick enough where we can leave at 6am and get to Snowshoe by Noon!
